Learning Opportunities

PREVENTING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE STARTS WITH EDUCATION

We offer community education for both teens and adults seeking to understand domestic violence and the services provided by KCW Shelter.

Our educational initiatives aim to share information, heighten awareness, and empower advocates in anti-violence efforts.

Awareness precedes action; understanding the problem is the beginning of change.

KCWS Reasearch and Advocacy Internship Program for UTSA Students

KCWS is proud to partner with the University of Texas at San Antonio to offer a competitive internship program centered around research, client advocacy, and community education. Undergraduate psychology students at UTSA may earn course credit through their work with us.

Young Hearts

A Teen Dating Violence Awareness & Prevention Program

According to love is respect, 1 in 3 US teens will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from a romantic partner before the age of eighteen.

Recognizing the crucial role of early education in preventing abuse later in life, KCW Shelter considers this program key to our mission

Educate Your Team

Our staff travels to schools, businesses, groups, and organizations to educate and inspire. Equip your team with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, address, and effectively intervene in cases of domestic violence.
