KCWS Research and Advocacy Internship Program

KCWS has partnered with the UTSA Psychology Department to offer an internship opportunity to a student centered on research, data analytics, client advocacy, and community outreach. To apply to our program, please download our application form below, and read the instructions carefully.

FAQs

  • KCWS is an approved volunteer site within the UTSA university system. Students within other departments may be considered, but priority will be given to a psychology student with a strong interest in research.

  • Undergraduate psychology students at UTSA may earn course credit through our program if they are enrolled in the internship course through the psychology department. This is not a paid internship.

  • This position will be on-site, and we require a minimum of 10/hours per week from our interns. Selected applicants will need to undergo a background check, drug test, and shelter safety training to work within our shelter.

  • Internships are offered on a semester-basis. Applications for Fall 2024 are due August 1st, 2024. Applications for Spring 2025 are due December 1st, 2024.
